Have you ever wondered who holds the threads of your fate? In Germanic mythology, the answer lies in the half-light of the tangled roots of Yggdrasil – the Tree of Life. There dwell the Norns, three ancient seeresses of the race of giants, who wove and guarded the fate of all existence. Germania Mint proudly invites you to discover a new series of coins, where every second, memory, and hope has been forged in silver.
Three sisters, one rhythm of time
The Norns are more than just mythical figures – they are the personification of time itself. Urd, Werdanda, and Skuld represent the Past, the Present, and What Is Yet to Come. Their home is the well of Urd, a sacred source from which they draw water and white clay to heal the wounds of Yggdrasil. The balance of the entire universe depends on their work – for if the tree were to wither, the history of gods and men alike would come to an end. Every day, the Norns spin the golden threads of life. From their weaving, human destinies are born – delicate, sometimes tangled, and occasionally abruptly cut by the edge of their shears.
Meet the guardians of destiny
In the first release of the series, we present three 1 oz Silver BU coins, designed by Kinga Sabatowicz, each telling a different part of this great saga:
-
Urd (Past): The eldest of the sisters, gazing into the waters of her well, where the shadows of days gone by are reflected. Her figure exudes the calm and wisdom of the foundation upon which we build our lives.
-
Werdanda (Present): A symbol of activity and “here and now.” Depicted as a beautiful woman immersed in the present moment, she reminds us of the power of decisions made at every turn.
-
Skuld (Future): A mysterious figure in a hooded robe, concealing what is yet unknown. With a knife at her side and skulls at her belt, she reminds us of the inevitability of mortality and the price of knowing the future.
All coins share a common, symbolic reverse: the Germania Mint double-headed eagle is surrounded by the roots of Yggdrasil and golden threads of fate. In some places, the threads are broken - a sign that while the past shapes us, we can always break free and choose a new path.
Yggdrasil Goldenleaf: The heart of mythology
The launch of the series is accompanied by an exceptional coin from the Mythical Forest collection – 2025 Yggdrasil Goldenleaf 1 oz Silver BU. This numismatic masterpiece is coated with gold and ruthenium. The contrast of the brilliant golden tree against the deep, dark ruthenium background symbolizes the power of the ash that even survived Ragnarök. Issued in a strictly limited mintage of 300 pieces, it is a powerful symbol of hope and the eternal cycle of life.
What does the future hold?
This is only the beginning of our journey through mythical realms. While the first release focuses on 1 oz coins and the unique Goldenleaf ennobling, the threads of fate woven by Germania Mint lead further. We can already reveal that the next stage will feature ennobled versions of these coins available in a collective box:
An impressive 1 kg version featuring the three sisters, and a mysterious release in the form of Germania Mystery Boxes, which are sure to surprise even the most demanding collectors.
Will you dare to stand before the Norns and discover your destiny?
