Bödvar – the birth of a legend

In myths and songs, the name Bödvar was associated with power and resilience, while the tales of Bödvar Bjarki – the warrior capable of taking the form of a bear – were well known among the Germanic peoples. Our protagonist did not yet know how closely his own story would mirror those ancient legends.

Bödvar grew up as an exceptionally strong youth, affectionately called “little bear”. He lived peacefully with his beloved Astrid and their daughter Sunneva in a Germanic village surrounded by forests, fields, and meadows. But fate hurled him into the abyss of tragedy. He lost everything he loved – forced to step onto a brutal path from which there was no turning back.

A tale forged in silver

Each coin in the series presents the next stage of Bödvar’s journey. The obverse captures the key scene of the chapter, while the reverse continues it through the signature Germania design: a small shield with a double-headed eagle, runes, and a distinctive frame made of bear teeth. With every release, the shield accumulates new marks of battle – just like the warrior who carries it.

The series maintains a raw, dramatic tone – yet its essence is one of endurance, inner strength, and unbreakable spirit.
