Ragnarök begins with a series of signs heralding inevitable catastrophe. The earth plunges into chaos, seas overflow their shores, and the Sun and Moon lose their light. These omens are not only physical disasters but also symbols of moral decay and corruption that have plagued the world. Now the time has come when dark forces, bound for centuries, are unleashed.
First, the terrifying barking of Garm, the hound of hell, is heard. This ominous sound signals that the time for battle has arrived. Loki, the god of lies and deceit, and Fenrir, the giant wolf bound by the gods, break free from their chains to exact their revenge. At the same time, Heimdall, the guardian of Asgard, blows his horn Gjallarhorn for the last time, announcing the beginning of the end. On the battlefield, the gods face each other in the final clash. Odin, the highest of the gods, fights Fenrir but is devoured by the mighty wolf. Thor, the god of thunder, battles Jormungandr, the world serpent, and though he defeats it, he dies from its deadly venom.
Amidst this cosmic destruction, a special place in the tale of Ragnarök is occupied by the wolves Sköll and Hati. Sköll, whose name means “Mockery,” chases the Sun, while his brother Hati, meaning “Hatred,” pursues the Moon. When they finally catch and devour their prey, the world is plunged into total darkness, many gods perish, and the last act of this epic saga begins. However, Ragnarök does not signify the absolute end. Among the ruins of the old world, a few survivors hide in the mystical tree Yggdrasil. They will initiate a new era, full of hope and renewal. Thus, Ragnarök becomes not only a tale of destruction but also of a new beginning and the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

Ultimately, although full of destruction and tragedy, Ragnarök symbolizes the eternal cycle of renewal and hope. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest times, there is the possibility of a new beginning and rebirth.
