The Valkyries coin series by Germania Mint is a tribute to the legendary daughters of Odin, embodying strength, courage, and mystique. Each coin in this collection depicts a unique Valkyrie—a goddess endowed with distinct qualities and duties that have immortalized her in mythology.

The Valkyries series not only captures the beauty of its heroines but also subtly reflects the changing seasons. The cycle began with winter’s Hildegard, depicted at the gates of a Germanic fortress surrounded by a snowy landscape. Next came spring’s Ostara, shown among blooming flowers symbolizing renewal and life. Summer brought Solveig, basking in sunlight and representing energy and new beginnings. Now, the series reaches its conclusion with Arnhild—the final Valkyrie, portrayed amid the autumnal Germanic forests.

Arnhild – The Mysterious Guardian
The fourth and final figure of the Valkyries series, Arnhild personifies precision, courage, and unwavering determination. As an archer and guardian of borders, her mission is to protect the forest stronghold and ensure the continuity and safety of life in the Germanic wilderness. Depicted in hardened leather armor, a hooded cloak, and leather pauldrons and bracers, Arnhild blends seamlessly into her surroundings.

Equipped with a longbow and arrows, Arnhild patrols the autumnal thickets, vigilantly watching over the Germanic woods. Her piercing gaze tracks every movement, and her resolve deters any who would dare disrupt the forest’s harmony. She is accompanied by eagles—majestic birds symbolizing strength, wisdom, and insight. Their presence underscores her authority and profound connection to nature.

Arnhild’s belt bears the Ingwaz rune, a symbol of protection, abundance, and the continuity of life. She guards the expansive lands surrounding the Germanic fortress, whose walls symbolize not only strength and resilience but also the enduring spirit of Germanic heritage.

The Final Coin in the Valkyries Series
The Arnhild coin is a true masterpiece, blending rich symbolism with masterful craftsmanship. The details of her armor, intricately designed accents, and the prominent Ingwaz rune emphasize her steadfast character. The composition is completed by an autumnal forest landscape, adding a mystical atmosphere to the scene. In the background, a majestic Germanic fortress looms, symbolizing her constant vigilance and readiness to defend.

The reverse of the coin showcases Germania Mint’s signature design, combining the double-headed eagle with elements characteristic of the Valkyries series. The eagle, Arnhild’s sacred symbol, encircles the central shield, which bears Germanic runes along with details about the year of issue, denomination, and metal composition. This meticulously crafted design reflects the highest standards of quality and a deep respect for Germanic cultural heritage.

Designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak, the coin perfectly captures the spirit of Germanic mythology, concluding the Valkyries series with grandeur and profound meaning.
