Last year, Germania Mint, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Malta, unveiled its first bullion coin: the 2023 Malta Golden Eagle 5 Euro 1 oz Silver BU. This step marked a milestone in the mint’s history, which for years has been known for producing limited-edition collector coins of exceptional quality and detail. In 2024, we decided to take it a step further and, alongside the classic version, released ennobled versions of our bullion.

Golden Eagle – A Coin with a Powerful Universal Message

The decision to introduce a bullion coin was a natural expansion of Germania Mint’s portfolio, enabling the mint to reach a broader audience of investors and collectors who value the opportunity to purchase precious metals at a competitive price. This year’s Golden Eagle coin also sets new standards in size and craftsmanship.

The motif continues from the previous year – the eternal battle between good and evil, symbolized by the majestic eagle clashing with the serpent. The struggle unfolds against the backdrop of the Mediterranean waves surrounding Malta, the country that is the partner of this issuance. The reverse of the bullion continues with the laurel wreath pattern inspired by the artwork on the ceiling of the Grandmaster’s Palace in Valletta. The design is completed by olive and palm branches, adorned with lily flowers.

Limited Edition – Three Ennobled Versions of the Bullion

The first of the enhanced versions, the 2024 Malta Golden Eagle 5 Euro 1 oz Silver BU – Limited Edition, is coated entirely in ruthenium, giving it a unique dark sheen. Additionally, elements of the coin, such as the majestic eagle and its opponent, the serpent, are enriched with gold and palladium, highlighting the main theme of the coin. This limited edition is available in an elegant wooden box with an engraving, and its authenticity is confirmed by a Certificate of Authenticity.

For collectors seeking larger coins, Germania Mint has prepared the 2024 Malta Golden Eagle 10 Euro 2 oz Silver BU HR – Limited Edition. This two-ounce coin, besides its increased weight and high relief, features an Antique Finish effect that lends it an ancient appearance. The selective colorization of individual elements adds a modern character, creating a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The coin is presented in an acrylic display case, which beautifully showcases its artistic qualities. A Certificate of Authenticity is also included.

The largest and most impressive release of the year is the 2024 Malta Golden Eagle 30 Euro 1 Kilo Silver BU – Limited Edition. The enlarged size allows for even more intricate details to be highlighted, while the addition of ruthenium and gold transforms this coin into a true masterpiece among bullion coins. It is also the first coin of such a size to be ennobled by Germania Mint. The one-kilogram coin is packed in a wooden box, with its authenticity confirmed by an accompanying certificate.
