The obverse
The obverse features a monumental depiction of the Giant Deer set against a prehistoric landscape. The animal is captured in a dynamic pose that highlights its powerful build and distinctive antlers. The reverse
The reverse presents a distinctive series motif created by Germania Mint. The skull of the extinct deer is combined with its expansive antlers and a hoofprint. Around it are tracks belonging to other species, creating a visual connection with subsequent Megafauna issues. The design is completed by the effigy of the Republic of Liberia and the Germania Mint mark.
Among the animals that have left a remarkable mark on the history of prehistoric fauna is the Giant Deer (Megaloceros giganteus). Once inhabiting Europe and Asia, this giant deer was distinguished above all by the extraordinary size of its antlers.
